Lenawee County Mission is a Christ-centered, faith-based ministry serving the homeless, addicted and hungry in Lenawee County. The focus of our programs is to identify and utilize resources in the community in order to provide hope to the hopeless in our area through shelter, food and life transformation.
Our programs perform the following:
Fresh Start: 90 days of emergency shelter, three meals daily, daily hot shower, weekly laundry, hygiene products, clothing, employment emphasis, education and referral opportunities, spiritual guidance, three chapel services per week.
LifeChange: one year of shelter, three meals daily, study materials including books and Bible, daily spiritual formation classes, biblical counseling for issues of addiction, servanthood and vocational opportunities, nightly chapel services, church services, laundry service, hygiene products, recreational activities, leadership skills, communication skills, responsibility and accountability, teamwork skills, conflict resolution skills, submission to authority.
Fishes & Loaves Food Pantry: is a "client choice" model of emergency food distribution that enables guests to select their own food, much like a grocery store. Unlike most pantries, which provide people with fixed boxes or bags of food with no ability to select the items included, client choice pantries allow individuals the ability to choose from a wide variety of foods, better enabling them to meet their personal dietary needs.
The client choice model offers other advantages, including:
A sense of dignity for guests and their families
Higher satisfaction with the food they are able to choose
Less waste and ultimately less cost of food provided
Greater opportunities for volunteer and guests to interact; more social, supportive relationship opportunities
Fishes & Loaves provides a 5-7 day supply of food to Lenawee County residents experiencing a food emergency.
