Three Baptisms
On Sunday, August 29th, three men from the LifeChange program bore witness to God's redemptive and creative activity in their lives through the sacrament of baptism. John Scanlon, Larry Koepfle and Aric Demski were baptized at an ourdoor service with Executive Director, Pastor Steven Palmer officiating. Several family members, friends and LCM supporters gathered to join these men in celebrating God's transformative mercy, grace and love at work in their lives.

"Project 222"

On Wednesday, August 11th, Lenawee County Mission dumped over 2,500 pounds of pennies in the parking lot of First Federal Bank in Adrian. It was the conclusion of our second "Project 222" fundraising event, whereby we sought to raise 2 tons of pennies in 2 months, 2 at a time. All funds raised from this event will assist LCM in its efforts to expand its ministries to the hungry, homeless and addicted in Lenawee County.

Thanks to all who helped make this event successfull, particularly those businesses who displayed collection cannisters for us, including: Adrian Dry Cleaners, Lowry's Market, Perky Pantry, Sounds of Ligth, Continental Service, Village Green Golf Course, Lenawee Tire & Supply Co., Dick's Meat Market, Jerry's Express, Country House Restaurant, Tecumseh Plywood, T.C.'s Hardware, Blissfield BP, Riverbend Timberframing and Centerview Golf Course.

A very special thank you to First Federal Bank for providing penny conversion and use of facilities, Cutler-Dickerson Company for providing their scales to weigh the truck & pennies and Bales, Inc. for providing the dump truck for this event.

We also would like to thank Jerry's Market, Walmart and Staples for providing space for us to collect donations at their doors of business.

Finally, we thank God for His continued grace, mercy, healing and hope being made visible at LCM and for the blessing of such caring and compassionate supporters who contributed to this event.

Food Pantry Now Open

Fishes & Loaves Food Pantry

On May 3rd, and after nine months in the making, Lenawee County Mission's feeding ministry Fishes & Loaves Food Pantry opened its doors to the public and began to serve those in the community who are hungry and in need of food.  We served nearly 100 households our first week. Our guests were touched not only by the unique "grocery style" format with which this pantry operates but by the way this pantry empowers them with respect, dignity and hope.  Amidst the smiles of joy on our guests faces were also tears of appreciation.  It is a true blessing when mothers and fathers can "shop" for their children and ensure that they don't go to bed hungry. Please stop by and see how God is touching lives with the love of Christ through this feeding ministry.
